Practice Makes Perfect

So I've been learning to use the "manual" setting on my camera.  The reason being is I'm dying to get one of these....

Canon EOS Rebel T3

I've got to save up my pennies to get it, but that's okay.  It gives me time to learn how to set up the settings (does that make sense?).  My photog friend Erica told me to practice, practice, practice.  So I have been!  And I am so dang tired of taking pictures of objects, and MOVING kids.  So I asked a friend if I could take some maternity pictures, just for some real practice.  She was game!  So yesterday afternoon I tested my skills.  I was pleasantly surprised with myself! ha!  Here are just a few of the finished product (and please critique away.  Any advice is greatly appreciated!)....

Okay, so that was more than a few!  But seriously who doesn't love lookin' at a glowing pregnant chick!!

I'm All Grown Up

Last night we had a "girl's night out"!  It was tons of fun.  It's so nice to go out, catch up, trash talk the husbands,  and just have an all around good time.

We started out at a winery.  I've never been a wine drinker.  I've tried different kinds here and there, but they always taste horrible to me.  I'm a beer girl, plain and trashy. ha!  Kelly has told me that there is a wine out there for me I just have to find it.  Well she was right! After tasting several last night I picked my poison....

French Lick Red.  I swear they just bottled up Concord Grape Juice!  Maybe that's why I like it so well.  I felt so grown up purchasing a bottle of wine.  It was like I've evolved to this mature woman!  Of course then we left there, hit up a bar, and guess what I got BEER!  haha  Even after all that I went back to my tried and true friend!

Here's a little snap shot of what it's like for me when I'm trying to take pictures of something other than my kids...

They can't stand it!!  If I take 10 pictures the heathens are usually in at least 8 of them!  I usually end up having to go lock myself in a room to get them out of the picture...sad I know! 

Also, I'm working on my picture taking skills.  I have a nice camera, but I want to upgrade to a fancy schmancy one (Canon Rebel please!).  My friend, and AWESOME photographer, Erica is giving me pointers on the manual settings and such, but I'm asking for any other advice you guys might have.  Please remember though I'm no where near a pro (hence the practice!), so please "dumb it down" for me.  Any advice, or websites would be greatly appreciated!  The camera I have now is a Canon Power Shot S2 1S (if that's something you need to know).

One of Them

Liddy wants so bad to be with the "big" kids now that she is crawling.  She follows them from room to room.  Well she trys anyway.  I mean it's hard for her to hold all that weight up for extended periods of time!  Most of the day this is were you find poor Liddy...

She waits patiently outside Jax's door for them to let her in....which they very rarely do.  I've made them at times, but they always come out yelling "she's slobbering on everything, she's tearing up the track."  So I bring her out, close the door.  It breaks her heart, until she looks and realizes Laney's door is open!

Then she is off like a mad women, to find something to slobber on!

Friends

These two will forever be friends.....
And she will forever be their tag-a-long.....

Pizza and Friends

Well yesterday wasn't all that interesting. We did get to go out to eat with some friends of ours, Steve and Karen....We ate at Wick's Pizza in New Albany. They have the best pizza known to mankind! Steve says King's Island has a better place, but seriously it's a theme park how good could it be?!?! I think he just likes to argue with me! LOL We had a great time though. We always do with them! It's nice to be able to have "adult" conversation after a day of toddler talk! Usually my days consist of "be quiet and eat, quit hitting your sister, Laney you have to share, stop running in the house, etc, etc." So you can see why I'm excited when we get to go out! There was a bit of drama when we left, but Steve "nipped it in the bud" so to speak. After that the night was calm and uneventful. Except for when I hit my head on my window trying to see...that's a sight you have to see in person to truly cherish! haha

I do have a funny story from this morning to share. This just shows you how 4 year olds think!

Me: Titan do you want some breakfast?

Titan: No, I'm not hungry.

Me: Okay, you can eat in a little bit.

Jaxson: I was not hungry one day....it was a long time ago.

I busted out laughing. It was like Jax was traumatized by the "one day" he wasn't hungry. His face was priceless. He looked so sad when he said it.

On another note...I have a button now!! YAY! It took me about 30 minutes to get it figured out yesterday. But any who grab it and put it on your blog, if you have one, if not then get freakin' blog! LOL
