Qustionable Fashionista

On the days we aren't doing anything, or going anywhere Laney dresses herself.  She also does before bed too.  Last night I worked, so I wasn't here for the bed time routine, but this is what I woke up to....

A Little of Everything

This will be a random collage of everything...you okay with that..okay here we go...

We've been "ballers" for the past couple months.  Jax has fell in LOVE with baseball!  He wants to to play everyday out in the yard, even when it's a sweltering 100*!  Mama doesn't like that part of it!  He knows the names of several teams, so he tells us who we play for and if we win or lose!  Surprisingly his team ALWAYS wins! ha!  Here are a few pictures of the last game....you will see at the end his favorite part of the whole season!

We've also been swimming a ton!  The weather is cooling back down this week, but I figure the kids won't care...they will still be begging for sunscreen and bathing suits.

We've also been going to the lake every weekend now.  I need to start remembering to take more pictures out on the lake.  We have such a great time with all our friends down there.  Makes me so happy all the memories we create on the lake :)  I know our kids will forever have stories to tell about their childhood on the water!

My goal for the summer is to get Laney (my stubborn child) to learn her ABC's.  Luckily she is FINALLY letting me teach her!  We are chugging along, she's up to J, and has mastered the sounds too.  I'm proud of her.  It was touch and go at first because she wants things her way, or NO WAY!  Glad she is starting to figure out I do actually know what I'm talking about!  At least for today she realizes it, tomorrow may be another story! ha!

We haven't been terribly busy, but it still seems like we run in circles some days.  I've told myself it's summer, if my house is dirty so be it...now if I can just get my OCD to agree with me!  Till next time kids.....

 

Peanuts and Crackerjacks

Jax had his first t-ball game yesterday.  He did great!  He was so excited that he didn't have to use the tee either time he batted.  He also says he got a home run.  Technically he was the last batter, so they sent him around all the bases instead of just to first.  I let him think he got the homer...I wasn't crushing the dreams of the future Babe Ruth :)

The end of the game.  He told me afterwards that Titan explained to him how this worked.  Titan says "hold your arm out and say good game over and over"  I asked Jax if he knew why you said that, he goes "because that's what Titan says to say!" ha!

And of course..Miss Laney now says she needs a glove to "practice" with the boys!  Looks like she's going to be a sports girl too!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  We finally got some nice weather at the lake house yesterday too...much needed after the 500 days of rain!!

Life of A Three Year Old

Just a quick post because the kids are waking, and they automatically assume I'm going to feed them...whatever :)

Yesterday Jax and Laney were outside playing.  I hear her start to cry, then here she comes running in the door.  Now you have to picture her....her hair is a total mess, half of her ponytail has fallen down, her nose is running (from the crying), her cheeks are red from the coolness, and her clothes look like she's had them on for 10 days!   This is what happens next...

Me: What's wrong?

Laney: My thing is broke!! (at least this is what I got through all the crying and DRAMA!)

Me: What are you talking about?

Laney:  My bike...it's down...it won't work...

Me:  You wrecked your bike?

Laney:  NO!!!!  The thing I move when I wave to people.

Me:  What are you talking about?  side note: at this point she is BAWLING!  I'm pretty sure most was in frustration because her ignorant mother couldn't figure out what she was talking about! ha!

Laney: MY DINGER!  MY DINGER IS HANGING DOWN AND IT WON'T DING ANYMORE!!!!  (she screams this to me)

Me:  laughing uncontrollably, while crossing my legs so I don't pee my pants (that's what 2 kids will do to ya!)

Laney: MY DINGER IS BROKENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me:  hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

So in case you didn't figure it out, the bell on her bike had turned under the handlebars.  Poor kid couldn't "ding" at her brother!  Don't worry the dinger has since been fixed, and all is well in her three year old world again :) 

Finally!

Did you see that...they are OUTSIDE!!  Woo hoo!!  Finally, the sun was shining yesterday and the temps topped out at 70!  Glory hallelujah!  They were able to go out and burn some serious energy, and give my some peace.

It's so good for them (and me!) to get out and run, and play!

Possible Strange Addiction

Tonight Denny and I were putting sheets Laney's bed, and this is what Denny found...

I had seen bits and pieces of "stuffing" around the house for the last couple days, but just thought it had fell out of this elephant Jax has...

If you look closer you can see the hole in his trunk...

I had Jax bring his elephant to me when Den found the PILE, but the trunk wasn't flat.  So that leads to Miss "innocent" Laney.  I asked her where all that had come from under her bed.  Her response "Titan".  Of course blame it on one of the "loaner" kids.  I mean that seems logical since he's not here to defend himself.  When I told her to tell the truth, where did it come from.  She responds "Titan!  He had a hole."  Then it hits me...She has a stuffed bear that she named Titan.  He's a cute bear see...

 Well, he WAS a cute bear....

Now he has a HUGE hole in his head!  When we asked her why she did that she said "it kept sticking out, so I kept pulling."  We couldn't help but laugh at her.  I mean it makes sense, keep pulling till you can't pull any more!  She's so funny!  I have to admit I was a little relieved.  I saw a preview for the show Strange Addictions the other day, and the woman had an addiction to eating the foam out of couch cushions!  There for a minute I thought Laney had an addiction to pulling stuffing! ha!!

Somedays...

I love the days that they don't fight, and actually enjoy each other. The other 364 days of the year, well we won't talk about those!

HaPpY 3rd BiRtHdAy

This is how our weekend was spent....

Hanging with family from the "South".  Denny's sister, Deana, was here from South Carolina.  It was tons of fun seeing her and the kids.  It was also a little freaky!  Her kids and mine are spitting images of each other.  Especially the girls, Carlee and Laney.  Even they confuse themselves when looking at pictures! HA!  The boys look alike too, but as Cameron gets older I notice more of the differences.  Maybe one day the same will happen to Carlee and Laney, but for now they are twins that were born three years apart!

Unfortunately, they headed back home this morning...and we already MISS THEM LIKE CRAZY!!  Hopefully we will venture down there sometime soon :)

Land of Make Believe

$10.00....that's what Santa, a.k.a me, paid for this doll house. She has spent countless hours sitting in her floor playing with it. It's amazing to me that we can spend hundreds of dollars on the fanciest of toys, and the $10 one is the one that entertains them the longest.
